HI!
My name is Renee Plummer and I recently turned 30 years old! A Washington native, I was born and raised in Seattle where I trained tirelessly at the University of Washington and Bastyr University. I attained a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. I am currently practicing as a primary care physician at Health Moves in Woodinville, WA. With this background, I provide holistic care to all ages, ranging from adolescents to geriatric patients. I am thoroughly trained in pharmaceutical medicine as well as counseling, nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy, physical medicine and environmental medicine. I have also furthered my medical education by becoming a certified Biofeedback Practitioner, licensed massage therapist as well as a certified Kinesiology Taping Practitioner.

My hair journey has been an epic joy ride filled with shame, joy but also vulnerability. My mother has ALWAYS done my hair, so she has been my only hair stylist. I have had all sorts of hair styles in the past. I have had box braids, sew in weaves, clip in’s, perms, wigs, cornrows, and curly. My relationship with my hair wasn’t a good one until I decided to take a leap of faith and go see a dear friend who is a hair stylist in Seattle. Two months ago, I went to my first professional hair appointment where I received a haircut, deep condition treatment plus style. Ultimately, what stood in the way of me loving my hair was the lack of knowledge I had about what it takes to help my hair type thrive. Now, I use Moroccan oil products, Olaplex, Shea Moisturizer, Chi thermal protection spray, and Hair Milk products. I receive deep conditioning and zinc scalp treatments monthly with my hair stylist.

Don’t forget that your hormones (e.g. thyroid and adrenals) and nutritional health are imperative to your hair health. Sometimes, the real underlying cause for hair loss is STRESS. During medical school, I was under high stress which lead to diffuse hair loss. Lab blood work can help identify the cause of your hair loss, so talk to your doctor. If you don’t have a doctor and would like to establish care, I accept most insurances (ex. Regence, Premera, Ambetter, Aetna, Cigna, Kaiser Permanente, United Health Care). By working with me, you have the luxury to be seen, heard, and helped by a physician who cares about YOU.
Fun fact: I recently got engaged on September 14, 2019 and have decided to officially change my name to Dr. Renee Mckinney so watch out for my rebranding
