After modeling and working in the cosmetic industry for a decade I realized beauty is only skin deep and it's more about how you feel that shines through your eyes & your smile. I decided I wanted to be a farmer & grow organic food after 9/11 and moved home to Hawaii full time. There was a huge movement growing here to fight to save our farmlands from Big ag who where using Hawaii as a testing place for toxic GMO seed crops. Myself and a couple other women decided we needed to raise awareness and have our own lobbyist in the state capitol, we worked closely with other activist groups to free Hawaii from these chemical companies. I now have a 3.5 acre Certified Organic Farm growing coffee, & fruit & vegetables for my family.
For my hair, I soak it with raw coconut oil every couple months and massage it into my scalp, I like doing it first thing in the morning on a day I don't have to go anywhere other than the farm or beach, that way I can rinse it out before bed and got a good 12 hour soak. I haven't had any gray yet and I’m 44 and I believe it's due to a tip a naturopath gave me randomly years ago in a yoga class to up my intake of copper, she claimed have reversed graying by having a tablespoon of molasses one a week. I also take cell salts, the one from Hylands called Bioplasma it has all 12 minerals our body is made of and I notice my teeth & nails are stronger too. I only wash my hair every other day if possible & use shampoo from the health food store that is paraben free and all the other nasty stuff that goes straight into your bloodstream, no thanks. I love Weleda products for pretty much everything.
I have very fine Nordic hair so a tip I learned that works to keep more body, as most conditioners are too heavy is, I put the conditioner on first so so it soaks in then I shampoo the scalp and rise, & I never blow dry or use straightening irons or hair spray, they all break my hair. I had a lot of experience getting my hair done, and teased ugh.. Bests tip from a famous hair stylist in the beauty industry I got is leave your hair how you are born with & just enhance your natural look don't change it.
